YouTube's player, search results, sidebar suggestions, and the channel page all render thumbnails in a 16:9 box. YouTube overlays the video duration in the bottom-right corner of every thumbnail and, on some surfaces, layers UI on the edges. Keep faces, titles, and logos away from the bottom-right corner and a small margin around all four edges.
